Why Science?

Ah, a student intently exploring the world (or a small bit of it using a light microscope).  Isn't that a good illustration of what a science teacher hopes to inspire?  Don't we want to inspire the intense curiosity of students about how the world/universe works?  I think so, and I hope you do too.
